RENOVATIONS FINISHED

Brisbane City Council budgeted for a project to undertake renovations at the Guild’s Red Hill headquarters.  Council raised the building, removed asbestos and waterproofed downstairs with adequate drainage. Entry downstairs is level making it easier and safer to access. Our heart-felt gratitude to the Brisbane City Council for improving our community facility. Asbestos gone, No rainwater though ground floor, bruised heads when working downstairs, or falls down an entry step! The renovations have doubled open work areas for courses and members.

From this to this!

Approval has been given for a shed at the rear where seldom-used equipment, garden tools and exhibition materials will be stored.

The guild was closed from late May and, while expected to be finished by September, labour, rain and supply chain delays saw timeframe extend until November. We are excited the work is finished. After a few weeks cleaning and unpacking, we again could share our love of glass art with members and prospective students. We continue to work in the upstairs work room while we plan our bright new space downstairs.
