Tani Bates is a mosaic artist specialising in glass smalti, and is the creator of Ulysses Blue Studio, Cairns.  Her artistic talent and professional expertise are evident in her vibrant artworks with her signature-style backgrounds and enchanting, tonal subject matter.

Her passion for creating with smalti with its rich colour and strong textural quality and surface variations is what drives her to be a prolific maker, utilising the unique, handmade nature of the glass material.
