Leadlighting
Leadlighting is the art of creating a design by means of the channelling of light through the textures and colours of glass. Needless to say, glass is a challenging and rewarding medium to employ.
Leadlighting gives depth and dimension to glass and works on the principles of light and colour – that is, using light to bring out the tonal effect and multidimensional aspects of painted and coloured glass.
Leadlighting is to be seen these days in all kinds of settings – in commercial applications such as businesses and shopping centres, in religious settings to enhance churches and synagogues, and of course, in homes.
Popular domestic uses for leadlights include windows and old style cupboard doors.
