Glass bead makingBead making one of the most mesmerising of all glass arts because you can watch the glass melt and change from one form to another. Turning glass into beads gives life and colour to an inert material. You can manipulate glass in ways unlike any other glass technique. Once the basic technique is mastered, beads can be produced with relative ease. The challenge then remains to produce an array of complex designs which bead makers yearn for. The technique is portable, affordable and versatile enough to be able to complete many designs, and only really limited by the imagination of the bead maker. Shape, colour, size, complexity and inclusions can be manipulated. Bead making is no longer considered a folk tradition, but a method of producing fine jewellery. The ability to match beads to every attire is also desirable. Also, they make a great Christmas gift.
